Putting the right words in the right places.
Putting the right words in the right places has been my passion ever since I can remember. I’ve written and published poems and mysteries and experimental prose, a philosophical monograph, a cultural exposé and a historical collection. I simply feel good with a pen in my hand and a piece of paper to scribble on—or, sometimes, with no more than a moving tongue in a wild wind. To see a collection of my recently published work, check out my writing website.
Meanwhile, I love to help others put the perfect words where they belong. I edit dissertations and film subtitles, blog posts and academic essays, PR texts, news bulletins, full-length books and tricky translations. I work for individuals, collaboratives, businesses, publishers, and schools and universities. My clients include:
Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT)
oekom verlag GmbH
Schweizer Buchhändler- und Verleger-Verband (SBVV)
Éditions Loisirs et Pédagogie
In all my editing work, I direct my passion for precision, nuance and flow to my clients’ content.
I was born in California, grew up in Bern, Switzerland, and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Yale University. My first published piece, in The Yale Literary Magazine, was a surreal description of a meeting with David Bowie; my last four publications have been full-length books in completely different genres.
I have lived in Switzerland for the last 25 years, and became a Swiss citizen in 2013. A passionate outdoorsman, I have made dozens of alpine ascents with crampons and on skis. Today, however, I am more likely to be found in a tent among the forests and abandoned alps of Piedmont, Italy, than on a Swiss glacier.
