How It Works

Each project is different, and the boundaries between editing categories are fluid. My goal is to create the best piece possible within the constraints of deadlines and affordability. I can work specifically as a proofreader, copy editor, or developmental editor, but I also can and often do work across those categories—simply shaping up a piece of writing to be the best it can be, whatever that takes. I also translate from German and Italian into English.

Contact me and let me know what you need. If it’s a straightforward assignment, you’ll send it to me and I’ll be on it. If we need to talk, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for and whether I’m a good fit for you. For larger projects, I may want to have a look at a section of your manuscript to get a better idea of it before committing.

I like to work intensively and thoroughly on my assignments, and then take time off, so you’ll see your transformed piece sooner than you might have imagined. At this point you can examine what I’ve made of it, study my edits and suggestions, and we can bat ideas back and forth until we’re both happy with the results.
